For 30 years, I served the people of Auburn as a firefighter. In that job, you see every side of a community—families struggling to get by, seniors choosing between medication and heating bills, young people wondering if they can afford to build a future here in Maine. You also learn the value of service, teamwork, and showing up when people need help the most. After three decades of protecting this community, I may have retired from the fire department, but I haven’t stopped caring about the people who call this place home.

I’m running for State Senate because I believe working people deserve a stronger voice in Augusta. As a longtime union leader and president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Maine, I’ve spent years fighting for fair wages, safe working conditions, and dignity for workers.

Sam Pfeifle for House 104

(New Gloucester and Gray)

Know Your District: House District 104

If you live in New Gloucester, you're in House District 104. If you live in Gray, check the map, because not all of Gray is included.

District 104 covers all of New Gloucester plus the northern and eastern part of Gray, generally the area around Libby Hill and Little Sebago Lake. The southern part of Gray, near the village center and toward North Yarmouth, falls into District 105 instead.

This is the district Sam Pfeifle is running to represent in the Maine House. Sam has lived on West Gray Road for 25 years and has served on the MSAD 15 School Board for four terms, so he's deeply familiar with the community he hopes to represent.

Not sure which district you're in? Take a look at the map to the right or look up your address on this website: VOTER LOOKUP.

Sam Pfeifle lives on West Gray Road, in Gray, with his wife Kristen. In the past 25 years, they have raised two children together here in GNG, Ruby and Gus, who loved their time in the GNG school system and recently graduated. In that time, Sam has served on the Gray Ordinance Review Committee, the GNG Little League Board, and for the past 12 years, the MSAD 15 School Board (along with other public service, such as serving on the Board of Day One, which serves those suffering from substance-use disorder, and helping to found the Portland Music Foundation, which merged into Creative Portland). He is a writer and musician and currently operates West Gray Creative, co-owns a bookstore with his sister, and is a founding member of the World Famous Grassholes bluegrass band.

Sam is running as an independent in House District 104, and with no Democratic candidate on the ballot, the New Gloucester Democratic Committee encourages Democrats to consider supporting his campaign. Sam's independent status reflects his commitment to studying the issues carefully and making smart, process-oriented, evidence-based decisions that serve all constituents, regardless of party. That approach has earned him broad support across the political spectrum, and we believe it makes him the right choice for GNG this November.
