Building Blue Harmony: Bluegrass & Bites with Local Progressives
A summer soiree featuring delicious food, catchy tunes, and rejuvenating connection with progressives from the local area. All ages welcome!
LA Taco Food Truck, New Gloucesters’s Bald Hill Band, and Norumbega Cidery will be providing bites, bluegrass, and bewitching drinks. You don’t need to be a registered Democrat to attend, we welcome all liberal-minded independents who believe that Democratic values—affordable and accessible health care, strong schools, higher incomes, and an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few—are Maine values.
Come for a fun night and meet new, friendly faces! No political speeches, just a lovely night in our gem of a town!
The event is free but tickets are required for headcount tracking. Visit the eventbrite link to reserve your spot.

State of Black Maine Symposium
A variety of Juneteenth events are happening across the state. Here is one we recommend for anyone interested in learning about and celebrating the history and future of Black Mainers.
The State of Black Maine Symposium is being convened by Maine Black Community Development – a Portland-based non-profit founded in November 2020 whose mission is to advance racial, social, and economic justice for all people living in Maine, with a particular focus on improving the quality of life for multigenerational Black Mainers.
The day will feature performances by local Black artists; panel discussions between Black elders on their experiences growing up in Maine, and youth leaders on their experiences today; delicious food prepared by Black-owned businesses; and sessions on the state of Black industry, education, justice and the arts. Interpretation services will be provided.

Voting Day!
You can register at the polls on voting day! Get to the New Gloucester Fire Station between 6am and 8pm to make your voice heard! Local elections have a tremendous impact on your town, from budget to roadworks to opportunities for growth. Vote for Colleen Strickler for New Gloucester Select Board. School Board candidate Gary Harriman is also on the ballot (running unopposed).

Meet the Candidates Campfire
We have 2 critical local elections coming up on June 13, 2023 and we have 2 highly qualified, motivated, and committed candidates who have stepped up and taken out nomination papers. They need your help getting signatures to be on the ballot. Stop by and chat with the candidates, sign their nomination papers, and hang out and socialize with friends and neighbors.
If you ordered a pride flag in support of our LGBTQ+ community, you can pick it up at this event. Extras will undoubtedly be available if you would like a flag and have not ordered one.
