Meet the Candidates Campfire

We have 2 critical local elections coming up on June 13, 2023 and we have 2 highly qualified, motivated, and committed candidates who have stepped up and taken out nomination papers. They need your help getting signatures to be on the ballot.

Please stop by and get to know the candidates, sign their nomination papers, and connect with like-minded local liberals. We’ll be in the front yard of 20 Gloucester Hill Road (Julie and Michael Fralich’s home), free to park on the road or in the parking lot of the First Congregational Church across the street.

If you ordered a pride flag in support of our LGBTQ+ community,  you can pick it up at this event. Extras will undoubtedly be available if you would like a flag and have not ordered one.

Colleen Strickler for New Gloucester Select Board: Colleen is running for Select Board because she wants to inject a new perspective into decision making and how the town is run. She grew up in New Gloucester and thinks it’s important to get involved rather than sitting on the sidelines hoping things will change. She raised her two children here and has been involved in many community organizations and events including the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Library, the Community Fair and more. While this is her first time running for office, she is not new to participation in the community.

Gary Harriman for SAD 15 School Board: Gary is running for his sixth term on the MSAD 15 School Board. He moved to New Gloucester with his family from South Portland 23 years ago looking for a more rural, small town and quality of life. He decided he wanted to invest his time and energy in his community and ran for the School Board for the first time when his son was still in middle school. He is proud of the accomplishments of the Board during that time and thinks that continuity and experience on school boards is more important now than ever.

Please join us on Friday and help these candidates get on the ballot and elected on June 13.

Hope to see you there!
