I have known Colleen since we were in grade school together and we are still friends and see each other whenever our busy days permit. Colleen and I share some of the same political beliefs but not all of them and over the years we’ve had discussions, debates, and disagreements. Even with our differences we’ve maintained our friendship for 40+ years. What I know without a doubt is that Colleen will solicit your opinion, research the facts, and if she disagrees with you, she will have a healthy, respectful discussion about it.  She’ll seek to try and understand the true facts and your point of view. Once she understands she will adjust her opinion and do what she feels is the right thing.

Colleen loves this town, raised her family here, knows the town well and will always try to do the right thing for her constituents.

Pleased join me in voting for Colleen on June 13. - Brenda Leavitt-Paradis from an endorsement in NGX.

I am running for New Gloucester Select Board! In the past several years I have been on the Library Board of Trustees, this has given me the opportunity to have greater visibility to local government. If you know me personally, you know that I am not someone who sits back and watches others tackle challenges. I am someone who jumps in to help. This candidacy is about that, stepping forward to do what I can to help a community that I love. I promise that if I am elected I will always do what I truly believe to be best for the community.”

- Colleen

“I have had the pleasure of working with Colleen Strickler for three years on the Library Board of Trustees, and cannot think of another citizen who would be a better fit for the Select Board. When Colleen joined the Board of Trustees, it was a challenging time. During the three years of her tenure, she has brought a thoughtful perspective and established a responsive and approachable demeanor.

Much of what we as trustees have accomplished benefited from Colleen’s enthusiasm, human resource knowledge and values. She not only has a professionalism and deep connection to this community, but what sets her apart are other qualities. Colleen has a deeply collaborative work style, in which she is interested in hearing all opinions, with an open mind. She actively encourages new ideas, with kindness and humor. In meetings, she was most interested in hearing how she could be an ally, to streamline the work of the Trustees and library staff, fostering more buy-in and robust planning. She has built a reputation of trust and reliability within the town, bringing a level head, and overall understanding of town dynamics and hard work.” - CeCe Sullivan Rohrbach, from an endorsement in NGX.
